Victor Menezes Convention Center
The state-of-the-art Victor Menezes Convention Center (VMCC) was built at a cost of over Rs. 40 Crores, and the formal inauguration was held in January 2011.
IIT Bombay Distinguished Alumnus Victor Menezes ('70), Retired Senior Vice Chairman of Citigroup, donated $3 Million to IIT Bombay Heritage Fund for the Convention Center.
The Convention Center has the following facilities:
DS Foundation Gymkhana Project
The DS Foundation Gymkhana, which was formally inaugurated in August 2011, was funded by a $1.5 Million donation from IIT Bombay Distinguished Alumnus Bharat Desai ('75), Chairman and Co-founder of Syntel Inc. and Chairman of the IIT Bombay Heritage Fund. The multipurpose stadium can be used to host tournaments in Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton and Table Tennis. It has a seating capacity for 1500 spectators. It also has a small stage that can be used for cultural programs.

Alumni support in the form of equipment donations from corporations are another way that alumni are making a difference. IITBHF has facilitated a partnership with Applied Materials which has donated state-of-the-art equipment valued at $7.5 Million to be housed at the Applied Materials Nanofabrication Laboratory at IIT Bombay. Likewise, another important academia-industry collaboration under way at IIT Bombay is with Qualcomm Inc. which has donated high capacity FPGA prototyping platforms.
