It is that time of the year. Yes Picnic Time!!!. Come with your family and friends to the Picnic, we have planned whole lots of fun for all of you.

Everyone registered for this year's Pan IIT picnic will be automatically entered for a mini IPOD draw.

Add to this the mouth-watering menu, and you know where you want to be on June 29th!

Also! wait a minute, a freebie! a social networking  where you get to spend time with alumni from your own IIT and other IITs. Meet your peers, long lost friends - see how have they changed! and make some new friends.

This year's Pan IIT picnic promises to have a host of fun-filled activities planned throughout the afternoon for alumni families and friends with fun picnic games, prizes lined up for all ages. What's more, you can win some really cool hi-tech! prizes.  There will a moon bouncer/jumper planned for the kids and teens.

Stroll in the wonderful liberty park!,  eat some mouth-watering Indian food (even better than last time - Kadhi, Tava sabji, Karachi chicken, Sweets! Shaved Ice! - yummeee! ), even garam garam chai and mitha paan.

Enjoy the ambiance and music at the wonderful Liberty park. Register as soon as possible so we can cater food accordingly. Do register early to be entered into a drawing for an IPOD and other surprise.

IIT Alumnus/Spouse/Guest $15.00

Child (under 5 yrs) $0.00 (free)  - Please register – so that we can get the headcount by June 23rd

The tentative picnic schedule

  • 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm: Registration and network within each IIT
  • 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm: Games/Entertainment for all + snacks
  • 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm: Catered lunch : General music and hungama
  • 2:30 pm to 3:45 pm: Games/Inter IIT Antakshari
  • 3:45 pm to 4:30 pm: Catered Chai / Awards / Soap Box / Prizes
  • 4:30 pm to 5:00 pm: Wrap-up, Clean-up and promises to meet soon

Note: Tennis courts have been reserved for those interested (may be additional charge TBD) Registered kids under 10 and under will get a small gift as a picnic surprise!

Directions:

  1. From LA go south on 605, please take the exit on South Street and make a right from the off-ramp.  Move over to left lane immediately before the first traffic light -Studebaker.  Now follow the common directions.
  2. From Orange County, go north on 605, exit on South Street and make a left from the off-ramp.  Stay in the left lane and the upcoming major traffic light is Studebaker.  Now follow the common directions.

Common directions:

On Studebaker, make a left.  Liberty Park is on your right after a couple of buildings.  You can turn in the 2nd driveway and park next to the community building.  The Camp Liberty near North Shelter is the closest to the parking lot. Look for signs for IIT picnic.  If this parking lot is full, exit out of the parking lot, make a right and go on to the next driveway, turn right and follow the path and park.  Camp Liberty shelter is right at the end of this parking lot.

Parking:

Daily parking permits can be purchased at the kiosk at the Main Entrance on Westwood Plaza. The parking fee is a flat rate of $8 each day. There is no fee for parking if the driver of the vehicle has a valid handicap placard in his or her name. Please ensure that your vehicle displays a valid parking permit at all times. Please purchase a parking permit for Structure 9. If Structure 9 is not available, Structure 8 is the next closest parking lot to the venue.

Walking Directions to Rice Conference Room from Parking Structure 9:

Enter the south entrance of Engineering IV building from Structure 9. Upon entering, proceed right to the double elevators. Take the elevator to the 5th floor. As you get out of the Engineering IV elevator, turn right. You will see a set of glass doors and across the bridge to Boelter Hall. Enter Boelter Hall and continue to walk straight. The Rice Room (room 6764) is directly to your right.
